The supremely talented Ron English has risen from a background in street art to become one of the most compelling fine artists working today.
Ron is credited with a number of street art innovations including “culture jamming”, the act of subverting advertising billboards. He painted the West Bank wall in Palestine alongside Banksy in 2007, plus his work has adorned Morgan Spurlock’s movies (including Supersize Me) and Slash’s latest album cover.
Ron’s blockbuster canvasses employ a myriad of pop culture influences to spoof and subvert the consumer spectacle. Perhaps describable as “photo-surrealism”, Ron’s unique style has to be witnessed in person to truly be believed.
